SRES®?

What is SRES®?

SRES® stands for Senior Real Estate Specialist. A few years ago, Royal LePage developed a Canadian version of this American Program that focuses of the many special and varied needs of the older members of our population. I was in the first group of Agents in Canada to receive the SRES® designation. As an SRES®, Bob Muir is qualified to counsel Clients who are age 55-plus in the Buying and the Selling homes.

I am a member of CARP (Canadian Association for Retired People). This hass been renamed and repositioned by Moses Znaimer to Zoomers! (I can’t think of a better place for Zoomers to play than Collingwood where we have 80 year olds skiing, cycling, hiking, performing music, and so on.)

Why Should My SRES® Designation Be Important To You?

  • I know that it can be very upsetting and disturbing to leave the place you have called Home for many years.
  • I know that after the loss of a partner, the survivor may be forced into making decisions that they have never had to make before.
  • I understand, because I have experienced these situations.
  • I try to proceed at my Client’s pace.

Among other issues, I can assist with making wise decisions about -

  • Financing, including Mortgages, Reverse-Mortgages, and Lines of Credit.
  • Buying rental property.

Whether you are relocating, refinancing or selling the family home, I can help you through the major lifestyle and financial transitions. I have experienced my Dad leaving Mom a widow. Then years later, Mom needing assistance from the CCAC (Community Care Access Centre), in her own home, to moving to a retirement residence then to a senior’s home. As their only child, so I had all the responsibility to help Mom. I know how important it is to treat our seniors with the respect and dignity they have earned over the decades.
